What is a root canal treatment?

  • Root canal treatment repairs the interior of a damaged tooth.
  • The dental pulp (connective tissue, nerves, and blood supply) is removed, and the space is filled WITH AN INERT SUBSTANCE and sealed.

When is a root canal treatment needed?

  • To salvage a severely infected or damaged tooth.

  • Gum disease leading to swelling & pus
  • Cracked fillings, or 
  • Tooth fracture

Signs Indicating the Need for Root Canal Treatment

  • Toothache when biting or chewing.
  • Sensitivity to hot or cold
  • Tooth discoloration.
  • Swollen and tender gums.
  • Presence of pus around the tooth.
  • Facial or neck swelling.
  • Loose tooth.
